Q. “How much of an area will one Probe Rotary Atomizer cover?”
A. Inside your building, one oscillating system will take care of 5,000 sq. ft.
Q. “Where should I mount a rotary atomizer?”
A. Rotary atomizers work best when installed at the highest possible clear level. In large facilities they should be mounted in corners, if possible, then along the back wall away from large openings. For dust control at a source area, a static rotary atomizer works best when mounted 30 ft away and pointing directly at the source, from above if possible.
Q. “How much work is involved in the installation of a rotary atomizer?”
A. You will need an electrician to install the power and land the cables from the atomizer to the control cabinet, as well as a plumber to run water to the atomizer. Either trade will be able to mount the control cabinet and atomizer bracket / head. The Probe Atomizer is a well thought out piece of equipment. Installation is generally 2 hours per system once power and water are available.
Q. “What voltage will my rotary atomizer run on?”
A. We stock 110v/1p/60h systems, other voltages (230v 480v) are available by special order. , Q. “How much power will one system consume?”
A. One system runs at 8 amps (1 kw), start-up is 12 amps.
Q. “How much water will my rotary atomizer use?”
A. Rotary atomizers have an adjustable water supply, ranging from 0 to 50 GPH. Most operators choose to run them at 20 GPH for dust and odor, adjusting them only slightly for seasonal humidity changes.
Q. “When I adjust the water usage will my droplet size change?”
A. Yes, droplet size ranges from 150 micron at 50 GPH to 10 micron at 1 GPH.
Q. “How can I purchase Probe products?”
A. You can purchase products by contacting Russell Sayce, the distributor for the USA at 727-423-7256. He will service you directly or refer you to a local dealer, if one is available in your area.
Q. “How much maintenance will I have to perform to keep my rotary atomizer in good working order?”
A. Other than replenishing compounds (if used), Probe Atomizers require no routine mechanical maintenance. If you are using your atomizer for dust control, you should periodically clean off the build-up that will occur at the back of the unit. A very good way to clean your atomizer is with a garden hose, while it is operating.
Q. “Will my rotary atomizer ever break down?”
A. Any piece of mechanical equipment will eventually experience failure. Probe Atomizers are constructed using top quality materials and most components will last for decades. The atomizer motor under heaviest use (24/7) will need to be rebuilt or replaced every 24 months (approx).
Q. “Is it OK to use my atomizer in temperatures below freezing?”
A. Yes, although care should be taken to ensure that water lines don’t freeze. Heat tape and insulation will prevent freezing when in use or off overnight. Water lines should be drained or purged with compressed air if turned off seasonally. Be sure to pay close attention to the solenoid valve and flow meter when winterizing.
